Jinan University, established in 1906, is a comprehensive university under the joint leadership of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the Education Department of Guangdong Province. Standing among the top 100 in the aspects of comprehensive strength and undergraduate education level, Jinan University is a member of '211 Project' universities and universities participating in the 'Double First-Class' initiative, a project aiming at cultivating world-class institutions in China. It offers courses in 67 undergraduate programs, 182 master's programs, 100 doctoral programs, and 15 post-doctorate mobile stations. In addition, it has 6 national key disciplines, 48 provincial key disciplines. The university has over 50, 000 students including full-time students, overseas students, and short-term international students. The faculty menu includes about 1,600 teachers - most of them renowned scholars, professors and researchers in their respective fields.
