Established in 1946, the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra is a prestigious educational and research institution with a focus on agricultural and biosystem disciplines. Overview

Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra is the only agricultural university in Slovakia. It provides education in bachelor's, engineer's and doctoral studies for full-time and part-time students. Fields of study are ensured by seven faculties: Agrobiology and Food Resources, Biotechnology and Food Sciences, Economics and Management, Engineering, Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, European Studies and Regional Development, and the Faculty of Education. Special attention is paid to the cooperation with foreign countries. The university offers a wide range of student activities, from scientific clubs through hobby groups to cultural and sports activities. From an origin concentrated on the agricultural production, it endeavours for intensification of the cooperation with related sectors like food processing, rural development, landscaping and sustainable resources, and protection of biosphere and biodiversity. SUA is also very active in several international projects.
