Bangladesh Agricultural University
Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is the highest institute in the agriculture sector of Bangladesh. Being the second largest university in Bangladesh, it is making significant contributions in the agricultural development of the country.
Overview
Situated in Mymensingh town, BAU was established in 1961. Its primary aim is fostering endogenous development in agriculture by producing world-class agricultural scientists. The university has a stellar reputation for its research and education. Currently, the university houses 43 departments under six faculties. The six faculties are Faculty of Veterinary Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, and Faculty of Fisheries. BAU extends its knowledge to the farmers through the Directorate of Extension Education. It also provides services to the livestock owners through Veterinary Clinic and Teaching Hospital.
