cairo university, also known as the university of cairo, is a public university located in giza, egypt. it was founded on the 21st of december, 1908. the institution is considered one of egypt's leading universities with its many academic departments, faculty, and notable alumni.

Cairo University is a comprehensive public university with hundereds of thousands students. It provides a rich and diverse learning environment with a wide variety of courses. The University is recognized internationally for its significant contributions in various fields including Arts, Science, Engineering and Medicine. It houses over two dozen faculties, a number of research institutes, and is associated closely with several hospitals including main campus in Giza. The faculties offer courses across broad discipline while research undertaken at the University contributes not only to the technological and scientific development, but also cultural and artistic life in Egypt and beyond. Cairo University has its fame as it houses the oldest Faculty of Medicine in Egypt, the Kasr Alainy School of Medicine, in addition to Faculty of Law and a Faculty of Archaeology.
