California State University, Fresno (Fresno State) is part of the California State University (CSU) system, one of the largest systems of higher education in the world. Fresno State campus sits at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the fertile San Joaquin Valley. As the university is an engaged University, all programs, courses, and activities are designed to encourage student and faculty interaction, as well as learning through experiences. It is recognized nationally for many of its academic departments and programs, including business, engineering, nursing, agriculture, and sports being some of its strengths. The University library is one of the 23 CSU campus libraries throughout California that make up the Unified Library Management System.
