California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is an institution of higher education located in the heart of Los Angeles. Originally established in 1958 as San Fernando Valley State College, it was renamed to its current form in 1972. CSUN is one of the largest single-campus universities in the nation, boasting about 40,000 students and over 4,000 faculty and staff members. Academically, CSUN offers 134 types of bachelor’s degrees, 70 different master’s degrees, three types of doctoral degrees, and 24 teaching credentials. These programs are made available through CSUN’s nine colleges, including the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication; College of Business and Economics; Michael D. Eisner College of Education; College of Engineering and Computer Science; College of Health and Human Development; College of Humanities; College of Social and Behavioral Sciences; College of Science and Mathematics, and the Tseng College of Graduate, International and Midcareer Education.
