The Catholic University of Portugal, often referred to as the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP), is the only concordat university in Portugal. Located in Lisbon, the UCP offers a variety of degrees in areas such as law, business, economics, and health sciences.

The Catholic University of Portugal (Universidade Católica Portuguesa - UCP), a private university, was established in 1967 by decree of the Holy See (Vatican), at the request of the Portuguese Episcopal Conference. It is the oldest private university in Portugal. UCP is composed of four major regional centers: Lisbon (the headquarters), Porto, Beiras, and Algarve, each one composed of several academic units, faculties, schools, and institutes. UCP offers degrees in diverse fields like Arts, Law, Business, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Social Sciences. The university pursues a policy of continuous pedagogical and scientific updating. It sees research as an essential task to complement and inform top-quality teaching, and therefore maintains a variety of research units, laboratories and libraries.
