Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology (DGIST) is a research-focused university that strives to make advancements in society through scientific and technological innovation. DGIST was established in 2004 by the Korean Government as a research institute to foster national science and technology. Since 2008, the institute has grown to include undergraduate and graduate programs. The university offers a broad scope of research areas ranging from robotics to novel new materials, smart devices, biomedical engineering, brain science, new and renewable energy, and more. The commitment of DGIST is to foster person of talent who dream and achieve scientific discovery and technological innovation for the betterment of humanity in the spirit of respect for life and human dignity, to realize social values such as respect for life and environment and service for human wellbeing.
