East China Normal University (ECNU) is a comprehensive and research-intensive university located in Shanghai. It features an extensive range of disciplines including education, social sciences, humanities, natural sciences & technologies, and administrative sciences. Founded in 1951, ECNU is one of the earliest established universities of the People's Republic of China. Its campus spans two areas in Minhang and Putuo. The university is known for its rigorous academic ambiance. It has 22 schools, colleges, and institutes, and offers 58 undergraduate programs, 35 doctoral degree programs of first grade disciplines, 167 doctoral degree programs, 195 master's degree programs, 16 professional master's degree programs, and 16 post-doctoral mobile stations. It is also home to basic foundations in elementary education & teacher training, liberal arts, and sciences.
