Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is the oldest state university located in Northern Cyprus. Established since 1979, EMU has developed into a significant institution providing education in variegated fields across six faculties and five schools. EMU prides itself on its multicultural environment and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs that attract around twenty thousand students from around the world. It has an expansive campus in Famagusta that hosts state-of-the-art academic facilities and a rich range of recreational activities and services. EMU is recognized and listed in worldwide major academic reference organizations' outputs, and it is a full member of the International Association of Universities, Community of Mediterranean Universities and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World. Despite its relatively young age, EMU has achieved an impressive level of progress in research, academic publication, and teaching.
