Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is the oldest state university located in Northern Cyprus. Established since 1979, EMU has developed into a significant institution providing education in variegated fields across six faculties and five schools. EMU prides itself on its multicultural environment and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs that attract around twenty thousand students from around the world. It has an expansive campus in Famagusta that hosts state-of-the-art academic facilities and a rich range of recreational activities and services. EMU is recognized and listed in worldwide major academic reference organizations' outputs, and it is a full member of the International Association of Universities, Community of Mediterranean Universities and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World.
