Overview

The European University Institute, or simply EUI, is a unique international centre for doctorate and post-doctorate studies and research. Situated in the Tuscan hills overlooking Florence, the EUI provides an inspiring cultural and intellectual environment for scholars from everywhere. Currently hosting about 900 doctoral students, the EUI offers four-year doctoral programs in the social sciences (Law, Political and Social Sciences, Economics, and History and Civilization). The high faculty-to-student ratio guarantees close and ongoing academic guidance from professors, who are leaders in their fields. The EUI is an English-speaking community, offering various language courses to its students. The Library of the EUI is the leading and largest social sciences library in Europe.
