The University of Jena is a public institution located in the city of Jena in Thuringia, Germany. Named after German writer Friedrich Schiller, it is one of the oldest universities in Germany and offers a wide spectrum of disciplines.

Overview

Founded in 1558, men like Goethe, Schiller, Fichte, and Schelling played an influential role in its history. Today, it consists of 10 faculties offering various multidisciplinary courses. It's internationally recognized for its research in the areas of optics, photonics & materials, infection biology, cell communication, environment & evolution, and cerebral mechanisms. There is also a considerable count of international students contributing to the diversity of FSU. The University has collaborative arrangements with over 100 universities and research institutions around the globe.
