Fujian Normal University (FNU) is a key institution of higher education in Fujian Province, China with a century-old history and a glorious tradition. It traces its origin back to Fujian Superior Normal School, founded in 1907. Known as the cradle to teachers, it is a comprehensive university with emphasis on teacher education and multidisciplinary evolution.

Since its establishment in 1907, Fujian Normal University (FNU) has been committed to cultivating talents, pursuing truth, disseminating knowledge, and serving the community, and has fostered more than 300,000 graduates. The school has become a comprehensive research university with teacher training as its distinguishing feature and scientific research as its priority. It has 28 colleges and departments, which cover 11 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management, and art. It houses a graduate school and offers 86 undergraduate programs, 26 primary discipline doctoral programs, 172 primary/secondary discipline master’s programs, 15 professional degree category programs, and 12 postdoctoral research programs. In the rankings of China's universities conducted by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy in 2021, FNU placed 101-150 nationwide and 601-700 globally.
