Hasselt University (UHasselt) is a public research institute situated in Hasselt and Diepenbeek, Belgium. UHasselt is an innovative, dynamic and future-oriented institution that contributes to improving society through internationally recognised & innovative research, high-quality education, and service to society. It was only in 2005 that UHasselt gained the full status of a 'university'. As of today, the university counts six faculties, and around 200 professors, making the teacher/student ratio one of the most favourable in Flanders. UHasselt ambition is to be an international and excellent centre of study, research and regional innovation, where students are trained to be critical, entrepreneurial and internationally oriented.
