Helwan University is Egypt's most technologically advanced higher education institute. Founded in 1959 in Helwan, Cairo, it is known for its faculties of engineering, fine arts, applied arts, art education, and music education.

Overview

Helwan University, situated in Cairo, Egypt, was initially a part of Ain Shams University. It later became an independent entity in 1975. Being the youngest of the three major governmental universities, it's recognized as the pioneer of Egyptian arts, culture, and science faculties, such as opera, ballet, theater, and Cinema Institutes. The university is well-reputed for its engineering faculty, which was the first to introduce the topic of material science in Egypt. Helwan's art faculties contribute to 70% of total fine arts and artistic education in Egypt. It is home to more than 155,000 students across 18 faculties, with the faculty of Engineering being its largest.
