Henan University, founded in 1912 originally as Kaifeng Teachers’ School, is one of the key supported institutions by Henan Province and '211 Project' as well. The university is a comprehensive institution with a vast spectrum of disciplines including literature, history, philosophy, science, engineering, economics, management, arts, law, education, and medicine. It has over 4,600 staff members, including over 2,000 full-time teachers, of whom 270 are professors and more than 660 are associate professors. It has an enrollment of over 46,000 full-time undergraduate students and approximately over 7,000 graduate students. Henan University strives to build itself into a world-renowned comprehensive research orientated university and to improve its competitiveness consistently.
