Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is a publicly funded tertiary institution with a Christian education heritage. It strives to offer a broad-based, creativity inspiring education with a big focus on academic research. Located at the heart of Asia, HKBU aspires to be a leading liberal arts University in Asia.

Overview

HKBU was established as Hong Kong Baptist College in 1956 by the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong. Psychologically rooted in the liberal arts tradition, HKBU promotes holistic education, encourages research and discovery, and values service to society. All of its courses are designed to incorporate general education, bilingualism, and problem-solving skills, an approach recognised as effective in refining the skills and knowledge of students in modern higher education. The University offers over a number of undergraduate programmes, postgraduate programmes and doctoral programmes in the Arts, Business, Chinese Medicine, Communication, Science, Social Sciences and Visual Arts, with around 15000 students enrolled. HKBU’s mission is to deliver whole person education characterised by intellectual, cultural, social and physical development, a global perspective, and a sense of ethics and professionalism.
