Hubei Engineering University (HEU) is a full-time regular undergraduate institution of higher learning, located in Xiaogan of Hubei Province, the hometown of Dong Yong of the Han Dynasty, famous for its filial piety. The predecessor of Hubei Engineering University was Hubei Agricultural Machinery Institute founded in 1977. It was approved by the Ministry of Education to become Hubei Engineering University in 2006. HEU includes 16 Modern Colleges, offering 61 specialties (for undergraduates). Categories cover engineering, science, agriculture, economics, literature, education, management, art, etc. Besides, more than 24,000 undergraduate students are studying on campus.
