Hubei University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Xianning, Hubei, China was established in 2003 by merging three provincial universities. It now has 20 schools and departments offering 70 undergraduate and postgraduate programs within the fields of science, engineering, medicine, arts, law, economics, and management. HUST has more than 16,000 students and a faculty of more than 900 professors and lecturers. The university is known for its practical and application-oriented education, with strong ties to the industry and high employment rates amongst graduates. It has several laboratories and research centres for students to practise and engage in innovation. In recent years, HUST has increased its focus on international cooperation, with exchange programmes and research partnerships with universities across the globe.
