SISSA, the International School for Advanced Studies, was founded in 1978 with a mission to foster excellence in research and promote the development of international scientific endeavors. It hosts over 70 professors, approximately 100 post-docs, and 250 PhD students, focusing on Mathematics, Physics, and Neuroscience, with a state-of-art computational biology department being one of the latest additions. SISSA has been noted for its diverse scientific research, making significant contributions internationally. It's not just a school, it's a springboard for young researchers who can, from here, reach the most prestigious research institutions worldwide. SISSA also trains teachers or public and private schools through the 'Master's in Science Education' course. Moreover, a recent agreement with the University of Trieste has led to the introduction of undergraduate courses as well. The school’s essence lies not only in performing top-quality studies but also in facing the challenge of a multiform and globalized scientific world.
