Jimei University was established in 1918 by Mr. Chen Jiageng,who was a renowned educationalist,industrialist, and philanthropist. Jimei University excels at maritime disciplines and focuses on Engineering, Economics, Management, Literature, Science, Jurisprudence, Education, Art, and Medical Science. There are 1,200 teachers, 40,000 students and 1600 foreign students. The University is renowned for its robust and innovative research, which includes National Key Disciplines, Fujian Key Disciplines, State-local Joint Engineering Laboratory, and Ministry of Education Key Laboratories, along with several platforms that conduct cutting edge research. It is profoundly embedded in the international academic realm.
