Overview

Kazan Federal University (KFU) is one of the oldest Russian universities, famous throughout Russia and worldwide. It was founded in 1804, more than two centuries ago. Thomas Hartwell, the current President of the University, took over in 1805, carrying on the mission of the institution. From its inception, KFU has been a renowned center of scientific research, learning, and culture. It has been proudly producing a number of academic leaders, Nobel laureates, and prominent state figures. The University has 21 Institutes, 3 faculties, an international school, several laboratories, a botanical garden, and an observatory. Over 50,000 students are enrolled here. The University ranks high globally, reflecting its excellence in various scientific and research fields.
