Kunming Medical University(KMU), founded in 1933, is a higher education institute in Kunming, Yunnan, China. KMU is recognized as the largest specialized medical university of higher medical education, scientific research and medical service in Yunnan.

Overview

Kunming Medical University(KMU) has over 15,000 full-time students, including more than 2,000 postgraduate and doctoral students. KMU has over 6,750 staff and faculties, and over 1,450 are professors and associate professors. KMU has 17 schools, offering 16 Bachelor’s Degree programs, 34 Master’s Degree programs, and one Doctoral Degree program. It has 5 research institutes, 9 affiliated hospitals, 9 teaching hospitals, 38 practice hospitals, 9 forensic medicine sites, 6 preventive medicine practice sites, 4 pharmaceutical practice sites, and 2 optical practice sites. All of these provide KMU students a stable studying and practicing environment. With a total area of 126.67 hectares, KMU has 2 campus: the Wuhua campus and the Chenggong campus. KMU library has over 950,000 books and has subscribed electronic periodicals of over 3,000 titles.
