Kwangwoon University is a private research university located in Nowon-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It was founded in 1934 as Chosun Radio Training Center and achieved university status in 1987. KWU is well known for its excellent engineering programs, regarded as one of the best in the country.

Kwangwoon University, established in 1934, has nurtured competent individuals equipped with a creative mindset. Its origins are in the first electronic engineering institute being developed in Korea. The University prides itself on its privately operated school system. Electronics and information communications have been the foundations of the university. It expedites university specialization through four strategies, the cultivation of individuals equipped with global mindsets, research specialization, industry collaboration, and a contribution-oriented system. KWU's vision is to foster students to become intellectuals who empathize with the community spirit of their founding principle. They aim to produce individuals who will contribute to the global community, with sound basic learning and centered thinking, as well as experiential learning.
