Overview

Lincoln University is one of the eight government-owned universities in New Zealand, located in the South Island city of Lincoln. It was established in 1878 initially as a School of Agriculture and after several evolutions, it turned into a full-fledged university in 1990. The university is made up of three faculties - Agriculture and Life Sciences, Commerce, and Environment, Society and Design. The university has a strong reputation for its practical, applied approach in this area. Lincoln's research work spans the entire value chain of the land-based industries; the management of resources for economic, environmental, social and cultural sustainability; business practices and the spatial design of human and natural environments. As for the university's global standing, it was ranked 356 in the 2021 QS World University Rankings and has maintained a constant position in the ranking.
