Linnaeus University was established in 2010 through a merger of two universities in Kalmar and Växjö. The university is known for its strong research programs especially in Environmental Technology, Wood and Building Technology, Biomedical Sciences, and Social Sciences. LNU is divided into two campuses located in Växjö and Kalmar and supports around 32,000 students with 2,000 international students pursuing degrees or exchanging annually.
