Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) was established in 1995 and is the only tertiary institution in Macau that offers education and training programs specifically for the tourism and hospitality industries. The Institute has developed its own unique educational and training model.

Founded in 1995, the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) is the only tertiary institution in Macau that offers education and professional training related to the tourism and hospitality industries. The institute offers a wide range of programs and courses, including bachelor's, master’s and doctoral degrees in tourism and service management. It also offers vocational and professional education and training, business advisory services and conducts research in tourism management. It runs a hotel and a restaurant, acting as a simulated hotel for students to consolidate their learning. The Institute remained the only institution globally to hold the “Quality Certificate in Tourism Education” by UNWTO.TedQual from the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
