Mbarara University of Science & Technology

The Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) is a public institution founded in 1989. Situated in the city of Mbarara, it is considered one of the leading universities for science and technology in the Western Region of Uganda. With a dynamic academic environment, it offers an array of programs ranging from undergraduate to PhD level.

Overview

Established in 1989 as the second public university in Uganda, the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has grown to become a center of academic excellence in science and technology education and research. The university commits to providing quality, demand-driven and problem-solving education and research in the fields of science and technology. Located in the Western Region of Uganda, MUST operates in line with the nation's vision for higher education and emphasizes innovation and entrepreneurship. The university offers more than 50 programs at undergraduate, graduate, and PhD levels across a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, applied sciences, computer engineering, and business management. With a thriving academic environment, the university fosters innovation, research, and community engagement. It significantly contributes to the socio-economic development in Uganda and beyond by producing skilled manpower and conducting high impact research. Its facilities include well equipped laboratories, a hospital for clinical training, and research and modern libraries which ensures that the students are provided with the highest level of education and practical skills.
