Overview

The National Chung Cheng University (CCU) was inaugurated on January 18, 1989, fulfilling the prophecy foreseen by the late President of Republic of China, Chiang Kai-Shek, in 1965. The University was named after the late president’s given name as a tribute to his noble spirit. CCU is the only University in Taiwan to hold a national designation, and is a top-ranked institution known for its focus on humanities, arts, sciences, and social sciences. The University emphasizes students’ moral integrity and has established an honor system. CCU boasts of a comprehensive education system from the undergraduate to graduate level in fields like literature, sciences, engineering, management, education, law, planning and design, and social sciences. The predominantly modernist campus overlooking the plains of Chianan Plain and situated against the backdrop of the Alishan mountain range offers an invigorating setting, conducive to academic study and research.
