National Defense University (NDU) is a higher education defense university based in Washington D.C., USA. Established in 1976, it offers several professional programs related to leadership, national security and strategic studies.
Overview
NDU was established in 1976 and since then, it has been instrumental in training military and civilian leaders through teaching, research, and outreach in national security strategy, national military strategy, and national resources strategy. It provides high-level education, research, and outreach. The university is composed of four graduate schools, each focusing on different aspects of national security. These are the National War College, Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, Information Resources Management College and Joint Forces Staff College. NDU is unique as it specifically caters to the need of the United States military and allied agencies. The student body is relatively small, where students come from every branch of the U.S. military, federal agencies, and international services. The curriculum at NDU is designed to teach, engage, and inspire leaders to achieve their preferred future.
