National Ilan University (NIU), located in Yilan County, Taiwan, was established in 1926 and has since expanded to become a recognized national university. Originally known as the Yilan School of Agriculture and Forestry, it first focused on advanced research in agriculture and forestry. After being renamed as NIU, it has expanded its academic scope to include programs in business, engineering, science and technology, humanities, and social sciences. The university now accommodates about 5,700 students overseen by over 200 full-time faculty members. In addition, it garnered respects in the fields of agriculture, life sciences, and other science & technology. It offers 17 undergraduate and 28 graduate programs across five colleges, striving to equip its students with critical thinking skills, global perspective, and innovative capacity. Its verdant campus abounds with cultural and natural resources, including the unique Lanyang Museum, famous for its eco-design.
