The National University of Malaysia, also known as UKM, is the home of comprehensive education and research located in Bangi, Selangor. Established in 1970, it's the second oldest university in Malaysia. UKM has a traditional and modern blend with a global reputation for excellence.

Overview

The National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia - UKM) was born from the aspirations of the nationalists to uphold the Malay language as a language of knowledge. Since its establishment, UKM has provided opportunities for students not just in quantity but also in quality. As the second oldest university in Malaysia, the structure of University governance is composed of the Chancellor, Pro-Chancellors, the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellors. UKM offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Even though the instruction medium is in Malay, there are programmes taught entirely in English. This university consists of 13 faculties, 13 research institutes and two commercial entities, and it is located strategically in the district of Bangi.
