Overview

The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) was established in 1991 in Bangkok, Thailand. With its primary mission to foster the development of science and technology in Thailand, the institute comes under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. NSTDA boasts four National Centres of Competence: BIOTEC (for biotechnology), MTEC (for metal and materials technology), NECTEC (for electronics and computer technology), and NANOTEC (for nanotechnology). With a focus on research and development, NSTDA works towards transforming research into practical applications to contribute to the growth of Thailand's economy. NSTDA is not solely a research institution, but also fosters technology transfer and promotes education and public understanding of science and technology.
