Near East University (NEU) is a private international higher education institution located in North Nicosia, the capital city of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Founded in 1988, NEU offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs to over 26,400 students from different nationalities.
Overview
Near East University (NEU) is one of the largest and most extensive universities in the Middle East with its students from 155 different countries and academics from 35 different countries. With more than 1000 academic staff and over 1,000 administrative staff, the university is home to 20 faculties, 220 departments and programs, 4 graduate schools, a school of performing arts, a school of tourism and hotel management. The university is well recognized for its facilities including the Grand Library which is the largest in Cyprus and one of the largest in Eastern Mediterranean. The University is also committed to excellence in research and innovation, and have several research centres in areas including engineering, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences and arts. NEU started with 17 faculty members and had grown into one of the world's major educational institutions offering over a hundred degree programs at undergraduate, graduate and doctorate level. Studying at Near East University provides an experience that goes beyond the academic learning with its cultural, social and sports activities.
