Overview
North China Institute of Science and Technology (NCIST) was established in 1941, during the Anti Japanese War. It started out as the first batch of engineering universities in China and has since developed into a key institution with multi-disciplines including Engineering, Science, Arts, Economics, Management, Law and Education. NCIST has put more emphasis on cultivating talents with practical abilities. It has established over 150 laboratories, including 3 state-level ones and over 20 province/ministry-level ones. With 25,000 full-time students and over 100 undergraduate majors, it takes pride in its multi level and multi-disciplinary feature. Its Engineering, Control Science, Engineering Management, Materials Science and Safety Science are leading subjects in China. It has also attained outstanding achievements in Mining Disaster Prevention and Control.
