North Minzu University was formerly known as Northwest Second Ethnic College and is located in Yinchuan, Ningxia. It is one of China's comprehensive higher education institutions with disciplines covering literature, history, philosophy, science, engineering, pedagogy, economics, law, and art. The University has 22 colleges with a total enrollment of more than 24,000 students.

North Minzu University (NMU), located in Yinchuan, Ningxia, China, is a key university in the western part of China that is directly affiliated to the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of PRC. NMU was established in 1941 and has grown into a large-scale comprehensive higher education institution that offers bachelor's degrees across eight subjects including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, and agriculture. The university also offers master's degrees across 26 subjects and doctoral degrees in 3 subjects. NMU prioritizes the harmony of ethnic groups, implements the strategy of strengthening the university with talents and characteristics, and actively serves local economic and social development. The university has developed a large number of high-level talents who have a strong sense of national unity and dedication to serving the motherland and various ethnic groups.
