North South University (NSU) is the first private university of Bangladesh. Located in Bashundhara Residential Area of Dhaka, it is now at the heart of the capital city's educational hub. Commencing its journey with 130 students, this prestigious institution has now grown to enroll over 22,000 students.

Overview

North South University (NSU), established in 1992, is the first government-approved private university in Bangladesh. It was initially based in Mohakhali, but moved to its own campus in Bashundhara Residential Area in 2009. NSU offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in various disciplines. Its academic functions are organized into six schools and twenty-one departments. The academic programs of NSU are recognized by other leading universities at home and abroad. A large number of students have transferred their credits to universities in North America, Europe, Australia, and Africa. The University has collaborations and exchange programs with many universities around the world. NSU is the first Bangladeshi university to receive American accreditation. The university has about 22,000 students enrolled.
