Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, also known as UC, is a prestigious higher education institution located in Chile’s capital, Santiago. It was founded in 1888 and has since been recognized as one of the top universities in Latin America. Thirteen faculties offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs to a diverse student population of over 30,000.

Overview

The Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (UC) is one of the six Catholic Universities existing in the Chilean university system and one of the two Pontifical Universities in the country, along with the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso. It is also one of Chile's oldest universities and one of the most recognized educational institutions in Latin America. It excels in the fields of Arts and Humanities, Modern Languages, and Media and Communications by international standards. UC has four campuses in Santiago and one campus in Villarrica. The campuses in Santiago are: Casa Central, San Joaquin, Lo Contador and Oriente. UC's 18 faculties are distributed through these campuses, offering a wide range of programs. The Villarrica campus has around 1,500 students and offers undergraduate programs to Pedagogics in common education, Pedagogics in preschool education, Pedagogics in special education, and a new Medical degree since 2020.
