Qatar University, established in 1973, is the oldest and largest academic institution in the State of Qatar. It's situated in the northern outskirts of Doha and offers a diverse range of programs. Qatar University was established in 1973 as the first higher education institution in the State of Qatar. Today, the university has nine colleges that offer more than 60 specializations. The university aims to preserve the Qatari heritage while responding to the needs of its fast-growing community and the wider global environment. The education provided in the university is aimed towards equipping students with the necessary tools for successful professional careers. It gives priority to active learning, critical thinking, creativity, and research skills. The university is recognized by the QS World University Rankings as having courses that are among the world's top 200. Its programs, drawing students from more than 60 countries, are taught in a rich and stimulating multicultural environment.
