Qinghai Nationalities University was established in 1949, making it one of the earliest comprehensive higher education institutions established in Qinghai province. The University firmly implements the party's policies on education and focuses on serving the local area while keeping the whole country in mind. It features major ethnic and local characteristics, serving the fundamental task of virtue cultivation. It has now become an important base for local economic and social development, as well as ethnic culture inheritance and innovation. The University currently has more than 10,000 students of 37 ethnic groups from 22 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions across the country. Standing at a new historical starting point, Qinghai Nationalities University will continue to adhere to the socialist education orientation and strive to build a high-level applied ethnic university with local characteristics.
