Founded in 1944, Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU) is situated in the ancient capital city of Xi'an. The university enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad for its outstanding performance in humanities and social sciences including Education, Psychology, Chinese Language, Art, History and Economics. It also offers a vibrant academic environment with well-equipped facilities geared towards teaching, research, and living needs of its students and faculty. The university has a faculty and staff of more than 3,500, including 1,200 full-time teachers, among whom there are 21 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. SNNU adheres to the development philosophy of 'normative, research-oriented, open and characteristic', and continuously carries out reform and innovation. It has cultivated a large number of excellent talents in various fields. SNNU is also actively participating in international cooperation and exchange, and has established partnerships with 244 institutions of higher learning in 33 countries.
