Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE), formerly known as Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT), is a public university in Shanghai, China. Founded in 1960, SUIBE is one of the earliest institutions specializing in business and economics in China, providing distinctive education in the fields of international business, economics, and trade. The university has made a significant contribution to the nation's economic reform and opening-up and has cultivated tens of thousands of professionals in international business and economics. Continuing its founding mission, the university pursues academic distinction in research, teaching, and public service related to international business and economics. Today, SUIBE is home to more than 12,000 full-time undergraduate students, and over 2,500 graduate and doctoral students.
