Overview
Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, founded in 1958, was formerly a directly affiliated institution of the former Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. It was successfully transferred to Shanxi Province in 1998 for joint construction, mainly managed by the province. It is Shanxi Province's key supported university and one of the province's first-level leading disciplines in the 13th Five-Year Plan. The school, as a whole, and its major (category) undergraduate professional construction is in the nation's high-level engineering and technological talents' cultivation project. TYUST boasts a solid profile not only in academics but also in research initiatives being a key player in National and local technological projects.
