Texas A&M University at Qatar was established in 2003. It offers a unique opportunity for students interested in chemical, mechanical, electrical, and petroleum engineering to study these subjects in the heart of Qatar's energy industry. The institution currently operates in the Texas A&M Engineering Building at Education City in Doha, Qatar, a 980,000-square-foot facility specifically designed for TAMUQ’s programming needs. TAMUQ’s undergraduate teaching laboratories have recently undergone a $400K renovation to upgrade and expand capacity. The courses offered here are relevant to Qatar's growth market, and students are given opportunities to interact with industry and conduct research of relevance to Qatar. The faculty and staff work together to provide a high-level, distinctive educational environment for students, guided by Texas A&M's traditional values.
