Overview

The University of Queensland (UQ) is a research university primarily located in Queensland's capital city, Brisbane. It is a founding member of edX; an online higher education consortium led by Harvard University & MIT. UQ is colloquially known as a sandstone university and is ranked among the top universities, both nationally and globally. It has a strong focus on teaching excellence, having won more Australian Awards for University Teaching than any other university in the country. UQ incorporates over one hundred research institutes and centers, such as the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, and the UQ Dow Center for Sustainable Engineering Innovation. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs through six faculties.
