Overview

Established in 1538, the University of Debrecen is the oldest continuously operating institution of higher education in Hungary. It has 14 faculties, and offers a wide range of educational options, including natural and social sciences, medical and health sciences, and arts and humanities. With approx. 28,000 students and over 1,300 teaching staff, the university is a hub of higher education in the country. The university is deeply embedded in the city of Debrecen, providing exciting opportunities for its students, whether it be in academics, research, athletics or arts.
