The University of Ibadan (UI) is a public research university in Ibadan, Nigeria. The university was founded in 1948 and was the first university to be established in Nigeria. It is one of the most prestigious universities in Africa.

The University of Ibadan (UI) is Nigeria's premier and most prestigious higher education institution. It was established in 1948 as a College of the University of London. In 1962, it became an independent university and has since grown to become one of the most respected universities in Africa. UI offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across its 13 faculties which include the faculties of Agriculture and Forestry, Arts, Education, Law, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Technology, and others. It is known for its high academic standards and rigorous admission process. It is also home to many reputable research institutes and centers. The university has a population of about 35,000 students being tutored by more than 1,000 faculty members. It is widely regarded as the Harvard of Nigeria, producing many of the country's top leaders, professionals, and academics.
