The University of International Relations (UIR) is a Chinese public university founded in 1949, in Beijing. Focused on training advanced professionals in international relations fields and contributing to the peaceful development of the global community, the UIR is internationally recognized.

Overview

The University of International Relations (UIR) was initially established as a training ground for diplomatic cadre and senior officials for China by the central government in 1949. It developed its undergraduate programs over two decades later and expanded in scope during the 1980s. Through the following years, the university has continued to grow and adapt to the changes in both international policy and the global educational environment. Now UIR offers undergraduate, master, and doctor programs, boasting diverse and high-level teaching faculty. The university is a member of the national defense technology industry and the Ministry of Education’s double first class discipline initiative, aiming to improve China's higher education standards. Specializing in international relations studies, UIR has conferred it with an international reputation and gain relative high competitiveness in the same field.
