The University of International Relations (UIR) was initially established as a training ground for diplomatic cadre and senior officials for China by the central government in 1949. It developed its undergraduate programs over two decades later and expanded in scope during the 1980s. Now UIR offers undergraduate, master, and doctor programs, boasting diverse and high-level teaching faculty.
