The University of Kansas, also known as KU, is a public research university in the U.S. state of Kansas. Founded in 1865, it is one of the largest universities in the state with 50 international degree programs. Drawn to its academic variety and beautiful campus, it sits atop Mount Oread, the highest point in Lawrence.

The University of Kansas is a large public research institution that houses over 28,000 students across its five campuses. It's widely recognized for its programs in law, journalism, pharmacy, medicine, and nursing. One of the biggest accomplishments of the university is playing a critical role in the development of the first global positioning system. The KU School of Business launched its online MBA program in 2012, which has been rapidly growing ever since.
