The University of Kent, often referred to as the 'UK's European university', is known for its global outlook and vibrant academic setting. It was established in 1965 and is based in Canterbury, England, with other locations in Medway and Tonbridge, in Evergreen, Paris, Rome and Brussels.

Overview

The University of Kent (UoK), with its main campus located atop a hill overlooking Canterbury in the United Kingdom, is a well-renowned public research university. Established in 1965, UoK was granted its Royal Charter on 4 January 1965 and the following year Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent was formally installed as the first Chancellor. It has a robust student body of approximately 19,400 from 152 different nationalities. The university is especially recognized for its courses in Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Sciences. UoK holds a TEF (Teaching Excellence Framework) Gold rating for its excellent teaching quality. The university comprises three faculties: Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences, within which there are 18 schools and 23 research centers. The university's Canterbury campus is set within 300 acres of parkland and is less than an hour from London. Its urban campus in Medway is a vibrant mixture of modern and historic buildings. UoK also has centers in some of Europe’s iconic locations: Paris, Brussels, Rome and Athens.
